Ringo Africa provides community-based emergency alert and safety features that utilize location-based services. By using these features, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
6.1 Community Emergency Alerts: Our SOS and Quick Alert features are designed to notify your designated emergency contacts and community members in your area. These features do NOT directly contact or dispatch official emergency services (such as 911, 112, or local police/fire/medical services). Ringo Africa is a community policing platform focused on neighborhood safety and community awareness, not a direct emergency services dispatch system.
6.1.1 Law Enforcement Partnership: Ringo Africa does NOT have any partnership, agreement, or formal relationship with local law enforcement agencies. Reports of criminal activity made through the app are shared with community members and your designated emergency contacts only. These reports do NOT go directly to law enforcement. If you need to report criminal activity to law enforcement, you must contact them directly through official channels (emergency numbers, police stations, etc.).
6.1.2 Criminal Activity Reporting: When you report criminal activity or safety concerns through the app, this information is shared with:
• Your designated emergency contacts (via SMS with location coordinates)
• Community members in your neighborhood who use the app
• NOT directly to law enforcement agencies
6.1.3 Community Policing Focus: Ringo Africa is designed as a community policing and neighborhood safety platform. The app facilitates communication and awareness among community members to help keep neighborhoods safe. It is NOT a replacement for official law enforcement services. Users are responsible for contacting law enforcement directly when necessary.
6.2 Location Data Usage: When you use emergency alert features, we collect and store your location coordinates (latitude and longitude) to:
• Share your location with your designated emergency contacts via SMS
• Notify nearby community members who may be able to assist
• Create safety alerts visible to users in your neighborhood
6.3 User Responsibility: In case of a true emergency requiring immediate professional assistance, you MUST contact official emergency services directly by calling the appropriate emergency number (112 in Nigeria, 911 in other jurisdictions, or your local emergency services). Ringo Africa's emergency alert features are supplementary tools and should not be relied upon as your sole means of contacting emergency services.
6.4 Location Accuracy: Location data is provided "as is" and may not always be accurate due to factors including but not limited to GPS signal strength, device capabilities, network conditions, and environmental factors. Ringo Africa does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of location data.
6.5 Limitation of Liability for Emergency Services: Ringo Africa is not responsible for the response time, quality, or availability of assistance from community members or emergency contacts. We do not guarantee that help will arrive in any specific timeframe or at all. Ringo Africa shall not be liable for any damages, injuries, or losses resulting from the use or inability to use our emergency alert features, including but not limited to delays in receiving assistance, failure of location services, or technical malfunctions.
6.6 Emergency Contact Information: You are solely responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date emergency contact information. Ringo Africa is not responsible for failed notifications due to incorrect contact information, network issues, or other factors beyond our control.
Ringo Africa's emergency alert features (SOS, Quick Alerts) notify your designated emergency contacts and community members. These features do NOT directly contact official emergency services (911, 112, etc.). In a true emergency requiring immediate professional assistance, you must call official emergency services directly.
Law Enforcement: Ringo Africa does NOT have partnerships with law enforcement agencies. Reports of criminal activity are shared with community members and your contacts only, NOT with law enforcement. You must contact law enforcement directly to report crimes.
Ringo Africa is a community policing platform focused on neighborhood safety and community awareness. It is NOT a replacement for official law enforcement services.
In no event shall Ringo Africa be liable for any damages arising out of the use or inability to use the materials on our website or mobile application, including but not limited to damages related to emergency services, location-based features, or community alerts.
