SOS alerts notify your designated emergency contacts and nearby community members when you need help. Your location is shared via SMS with your emergency contacts. Important: SOS alerts do NOT directly contact official emergency services (911, 112, etc.). You must call emergency services directly for immediate professional assistance.
Go to Settings > Emergency Contacts and add phone numbers of people you want to notify in an emergency. These contacts will receive SMS alerts with your location when you use SOS features.
SOS alerts are for immediate emergencies requiring urgent help. Quick Alerts are for reporting safety concerns, suspicious activity, or community safety issues. Both notify your contacts and community members, but do NOT contact law enforcement directly.
No. Ringo Africa does NOT have partnerships with law enforcement agencies. Safety alerts and reports are shared with community members and your emergency contacts only. You must contact law enforcement directly (112 in Nigeria, 911 elsewhere) to report crimes.
When you use safety features, your location coordinates (GPS latitude and longitude) are shared with your emergency contacts via SMS and with nearby community members through the app. Location is only shared when you actively use these features.
